Drift Radio launch on DAB+ in North Wales

We are really proud and feel very privileged to announce that we will be broadcasting on DAB+ along the North Wales coast with a launch date of 05/09/2025.

This marks an amazing step as we enter our 5th year.

As a not-for-profit community radio station based in North Wales we specialise in dance and electronic music and have built a loyal following both locally and further afield.

Our progression on to DAB+ in North Wales was supported by way of a grant from the Denbighshire Key Fund.

We would like to offer our thanks and gratitude to various organisations and individuals that have believed in us and supported us to reach various recent goals. Thanks to: DVSC, Ali Carter, Denbighshire Key Fund, Sean Develin, Martin Williams (Radar PR).

Drift Radio was launched on New Year’s Eve 2021, Drift Radio has grown into a hub for DJs, producers, and music lovers. We broadcast online via all major platforms, smart speakers (say “Play drift Radio”) and also have a dedicated mobile app.

Run entirely by volunteers, Drift Radio operates as a Community Interest Company (CIC). Each evening features specialist programming covering a broad range of electronic music styles. We have strong support across North Wales and continue to attract new listeners every week.

Alongside broadcasting, Drift hosts regular events.

Its monthly open-deck night gives DJs of all levels the chance to play a half-hour set in welcoming venues along the coast. The event is free to attend and attracts both performers and people who simply enjoy the atmosphere. Drift also holds an annual festival at Plas Heli in Pwllheli. The festival has sold out three years in a row and draws many returning visitors.

Drift Radio works with venues across North Wales to hold events that bring people together through music. We are focused on growing our reach while staying rooted in the values that have shaped the station from the start.
