Drift Radio delivered one of Rhyls biggest events of the summer so far on Saturday 23 May 2026, taking over both Kite Surf Café and The Nelson in Rhyl for an unforgettable Bank Holiday special.
Running from midday until 2am, the event brought together beachside vibes, sunshine, great music, and an amazing crowd who enjoyed an entire day and night of house and electronic music on the North Wales coast.
Perfect bank holiday weather on the Rhyl seafront
The celebrations began at Kite Surf Café from 12pm, where Drift Radio transformed the terrace into a vibrant outdoor music space overlooking the sea.
With clear blue skies and sunshine throughout the day, the setting couldn’t have been better. The sun glistened across the water as visitors relaxed with drinks, enjoyed food from the café, and soaked up the atmosphere from one of the best beachfront locations in North Wales.

The Bank Holiday crowd arrived early and continued to grow throughout the afternoon, creating a fantastic atmosphere on the terrace. From casual visitors enjoying the sunshine to dedicated dance music fans staying all day, the feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive.
A full day of house and electronic music
The soundtrack for the day featured a wide range of house and electronic music, providing the perfect accompaniment to the coastal setting.
Taking to the decks throughout the event were:
- GRWVTEC
- MC Craig
- Philicous D
- Mark Cava
- Kev Allen
- Daniel Farley
- Craige Bowles
- Mathew Hall
- Gabe Collier
Each DJ brought their own style and energy, creating a musical journey that evolved throughout the day, from laid-back daytime grooves to uplifting sunset sounds and bigger dancefloor moments as the evening approached.
The combination of quality music, incredible weather, and stunning sea views helped create one of the standout events of the season.
Sunset Sessions by the sea
As the afternoon turned into evening, guests were treated to one of Rhyl’s famous sunsets. The warm glow across the coastline provided the perfect backdrop as the music continued into the evening hours.

The atmosphere captured everything that makes the Kite Surf Café sessions unique, great people, beautiful surroundings, and carefully curated music designed to complement the setting rather than overpower it.
For many attendees, the sunset session became the highlight of the day, creating a memorable Bank Holiday experience on the North Wales coast.
The party continues at The Nelson
At 10pm, the event moved indoors as Drift Radio headed to The Nelson to continue the celebrations until 2am.
The transition from beachfront terrace to nightclub atmosphere allowed the energy to build into the night, with DJs delivering a more dancefloor-focused soundtrack for those wanting to keep the Bank Holiday weekend going.
The Nelson provided the perfect late-night destination, giving attendees the opportunity to continue enjoying the music long after sunset.
Together, Kite Surf Café and The Nelson created a unique all-day experience that showcased the best of Rhyl’s daytime and nighttime entertainment scene.
