Drift Radio returned to Kite Surf Café in Rhyl on Saturday 20 June 2026 for another memorable evening of music on the terrace, bringing together locals and visitors for a packed summer session by the sea.
Running from 5pm until 10pm, the event delivered everything that makes the North Wales coastline so special during the summer months: warm weather, a busy terrace, fantastic music, and an incredible sunset over the Irish Sea.
A packed terrace on the Rhyl seafront
The atmosphere at Kite Surf Café built throughout the evening as people gathered to enjoy drinks, good company, and a carefully curated soundtrack from Drift Radio’s DJs.
With the terrace full and the weather playing its part, the venue once again proved why it has become one of Rhyl’s most popular destinations for summer evenings. The combination of beachfront views and quality music created a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere that kept people enjoying the event from start to finish.

Visitors received a mix of familiar house classics, laid-back bar grooves, and deeper underground selections, giving the evening its own distinctive identity while maintaining the warm, welcoming spirit of the Kite Surf Café sessions.
DJs bringing the sound of summer
Providing the soundtrack for the evening were:
- Mark Cava
- Kev Allen
- Daniel Farley
- Jon Bradshaw
Each DJ contributed their own flavour, moving effortlessly between uplifting house records, timeless favourites, and more underground sounds that complemented the setting perfectly.
The musical journey reflected the changing mood of the evening, starting with relaxed daytime selections before gradually building as sunset approached.

A perfectly timed sunset set
One of the standout moments of the evening came as Jon Bradshaw took to the decks and perfectly timed his set with the setting sun.
As daylight faded across the coastline, the music and surroundings combined to create a memorable atmosphere that captured the essence of a summer evening in North Wales. The golden light reflecting across the sea provided the perfect backdrop for a selection of warm, melodic house tracks that resonated with everyone on the terrace.
Moments like these are what make the Kite Surf Café events unique, bringing together music, community, and the natural beauty of the Rhyl seafront.
Supporting electronic music in North Wales
Drift Radio continues to champion electronic music culture across North Wales by creating opportunities for local DJs and supporting independent venues.
The regular sessions at Kite Surf Café have become an important part of the summer calendar, offering a welcoming environment where people can enjoy quality house music in a relaxed coastal setting.
From familiar classics to underground discoveries, each event delivers something different while maintaining the community spirit that defines Drift Radio.
